Cherry Bomb, originally from 2015, found American hip-hop giant Tyler, The Creator in restless and technicolour form with A-list guests like Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Schoolboy Q joining the chaos. This album was inspired by Pharrell's funk-rock experiments and veers wildly between extremes: blistering noise assaults like 'Deathcamp' and 'Pilot' and soft, jazz-splashed ballads like 'Find Your Wings' are unlikely bedfellows. Tyler flexes rap bravado with playful abandon and elsewhere he's swaps lines with Schoolboy Q on 'The Brown Stains...' and spars with Kanye and Wayne on 'Smuckers. ' The newly reissued record demands patience but rewards curiosity and shows Tyler shedding shock tactics to embrace eccentricity with purpose.
