DANCE GAVIN DANCE - Downtown Battle Mountain LP (Eco Black vinyl)

Label: Rise

Dance Gavin Dance’s Downtown Battle Mountain marked the Californian band's first full-length release and established the blueprint for their unique blend of post-hardcore, progressive rock and melodic experimentation. Produced by Kris Crummett and following on from the Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean EP, the album introduced many of the elements that would come to define the band's sound.

Featuring fan favourites including 'And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman', 'Lemon Meringue Tie', 'The Backwards Pumpkin Song' and 'Open Your Eyes and Look North', the record pairs intricate guitar work with dynamic shifts between aggression and melody. It remains a key release in the band's catalogue, notable as the first of two albums to feature vocalist Jonny Craig and the only full-length appearance from guitarist Sean O'Sullivan.
