Label: Run For Cover
Originally released in 2013, JAR marked a defining moment for eastern Pennsylvania’s Superheaven, capturing a band that had steadily built momentum through EPs and relentless touring alongside peers such as Tigers Jaw and Balance and Composure. Recorded with producer Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, the album balances crushing heaviness with fragile, introspective songwriting, drawing on the scale and emotional punch of classic grunge-era records while remaining unmistakably its own.
The songs move between towering distortion and hushed reflection, revealing a band equally comfortable with blunt force and quiet vulnerability.
This anniversary edition revisits the album with refreshed presentation and includes two era-specific additions: ‘Siblings’, a standalone track from the same period, and ‘Lucky’, a b-side from the original sessions. Together, they offer a fuller picture of a record that continues to resonate long after its initial release.
